Malaysia is blessed with bountiful natural resources, especially in West Peninsula. Among the available resources are industry-grade sand, clay, tin, stone, metals and many other useful minerals.

Sand, found along most of the rivers and beaches, is mined for the construction industry while processed silica sand is essential for the production of glass and other silicate materials for a wide range of applications. Malaysia is also lucky to have the right combination of geological factors for the formation of large tracks of extremely rare ball clay, principally used in the manufacture of ceramics and sanitaryware.

 

In the mountainous backbone of Peninsula Malaysia we have many pockets of bedrock for the mining of various quarry products. In the valleys, there are a host of mineral ores, including tin for which Malaysia has been famous for since the 1700s.
